Material Description
Cafco BONDSEAL® is a single pack, polyvinyl acetate copolymer,
used as an adhesive/sealer coat.
Cafco BONDSEAL® is mixed with water and applied to porous or no
compatible surfaces to either seal or create a surface barrier prior to application of some Promat spray applied materials.
A wide range of surfaces in the construction, hydrocarbon and tunnel industries benefit from Cafco BONDSEAL®.

Typical Mechanical Properties
| Properties and
performance |
|
| Theoretical coverage |
When used as an adhesive, add 3 parts Cafco BONDSEAL® to 1 part
water. 7-11m²/litre as mixed.
When used as a sealer, add 1 part Cafco BONDSEAL® to 3 parts water.
3.7m²/litre as mixed.
Practical coverage is dependent on surface condition, profile, application method and technique. |
| Number of coats |
Normally one but additional coats may be applied as required |
| Cure |
By air drying |
| Drying time |
2 to 6 hours. The drying time will vary with ambient conditions and substrate, but high humidity, low temperature
and low air change will inhibit and slow cure time significantly. |
| Combustibility |
Non combustible when fully cured |
| pH value |
9.6 at 25ºC |
|
|
| Typical substrates |
Primed steel and concrete. Please contact Promat for other compatible priming systems. |
| Substrate preparation |
The substrate shall be clean, dry and free from visible moisture (including condensation), dust, loose mill scale, loose rust, loose paint and mould, oil and any other condition preventing good adhesion. |
|
|
| Methods |
When used as an adhesive, add 1 volume of clean water to 3 volumes of Cafco BONDSEAL®.
When used as a sealer, add 3 volumes of clean water to 1 volume of Cafco BONDSEAL®.
Apply to the surface using an industrial type airless spray, brush or short pile roller.
Where Cafco BONDSEAL® is used as an adhesive, commence
application of the chosen spray applied coating whilst the surface is still tacky. |
| Limitations |
Cafco BONDSEAL® may be applied when the substrate and air
temperatures are at least 2ºC and rising. Maximum substrate and air temperature is 45ºC.
Substrate temperature should be at least 2ºC above dew point temperature. |
|
|
| Packaging |
